Gentle Transitions: Making Environmental Practices Easy to Implement
Speaker: Author, Ecologist, and Landscape Architect Douglas Owens-Pike will share his knowledge of landscape solutions that help reduce our impact on soil health and water quality, while improving habitat for native species. He will present a list of trees that are most likely to survive the unpredictable nature of climate disruption in our zone, and outline which garden plants are best suited to drought/flood events. His tips for simple ways to make a big difference are meant to inspire stewardship among property owners, as outlined in his book “Beautifully Sustainable – Freeing Yourself to Enjoy Your Landscape.”
