DESCRIPTION:Monica Moses Haller Studio Tour \nMonica is an Art Professor at the University of Minnesota and her work spans media including photography\, video\, writing and installation. Haller’s recent work brings her to the eroding wetlands of the Louisiana coast\, land that has been in her family for six generations. This work explores the philosophies of ownership\, the social construction of race\, and the possibilities of this wetlands’s terrain.  Monica’s work is exhibited in the US and internationally at museums and public spaces including Pompidou\, Paris\, the Minneapolis Institute of Art\, the Brooklyn Museum and along the Mississippi River. Tour her studio where Haller will talk about her work and process. DESCRIPTION:Program:  Floral Design “Gathered Driftwood”  \nSpeaker: Jessica Sommerhauser of Jolena Floral Studio. Jessica is an accredited member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) and was named one of the “Top 35 under 35” by Florist Review magazine. She has been an active member of the floral industry since she was 15 years old and she designed five of the floats for the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena\, California in 2017!   After serving three terms as a board member of the Minnesota State Floral Association\, Jessica just opened her own floral studio. Jessica will be demonstrating how to utilize things we may find and forage from nature\, with added elements for the season. She will be demonstrating a gathered driftwood design that could be utilized as a door accent or table centerpiece–as well as show how the design can be transitioned from autumn to winter in a few easy steps. \nHostesses: Becky Diekmann  (lead)\, G.G.
