Flower shows have been a long-standing tradition for garden clubs and the Saint Paul Garden Club is no exception. The club held it’s first Mid-Summer Flower Show in July, 1929. Those first flower shows were one-day affairs, often held in member’s homes. Over the years the shows have been held every three years with guidance from the Garden Club of America (GCA). They have grown to be public affairs, with preview parties and 2 days of public viewing. Each show is a major undertaking and there is serious competition among our members for the coveted national awards.
